Christina Volkening APN, CNM is a certified nurse midwife who provides care for women through their pregnancy and childbirth, as well as gynecologic care throughout their lifespan, from adolescence to menopause.
Christy completed her undergraduate degree at Northern Illinois University with a BSN and began her nursing career working in critical care and emergency medicine. Throughout her years as a nurse, she had always felt a passion for women’s health and OB. She completed her master’s degree at Frontier Nursing University graduating with an MSN and obtaining certification in nurse-midwifery from the American Midwifery Certification Board.
In her years as a CNM, Christy has had a well-rounded experience working in collaboration to provide routine women’s health care as well as obstetric care for all ages. Christy believes that being a midwife allows her to partner with women throughout their lifespans using approaches that best suit their needs and desires, integrating both holistic and Western Medicine while maintaining evidence-based care. It is her goal to provide safe and well-educated care that encourages patient autonomy and satisfaction.
